Here are 9 key steps to guide your elevator purchase.

9 ขั้นตอนสําคัญ

If you are a homeowner looking to increase the value of your home, or perhaps you are looking for a long-term solution to the hassle of climbing stairs for seniors, you’ve come to the right place. In this blog, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about choosing the right home elevator for your needs, along with other relevant information to help you make an informed decision.
Buying an elevator is a significant decision that can improve your family’s quality of life, both now and in the future. Therefore, it’s crucial that you choose the right one! In this guide, you’ll learn everything you need to know about buying a home elevator for you and your family.

Here are 9 key steps to guide your elevator purchase:
1. Determine the type of elevator you need.
2. Preparation or information is key.
3. Schedule a test visit or contact a Kalea Lifts representative.
4. Try designing your own elevator.
5. Request a quote.
6. Schedule a Kalea representative to conduct a site survey at your home.
7. Ordering your elevator.
8. Delivery and installation.
9. Signing a maintenance contract.

#1 Determine the type of elevator you need.

You know you need to switch from elevator system or brand A to system or brand B, but with the variety of options in the elevator market and with different offers and information, it can be overwhelming. You should start by screening to find the elevator that best suits you.
When looking for a home elevator, you’ll quickly realize that a traditional elevator system isn’t suitable for your home because it requires a large installation area and frequent maintenance. But at Kalea, we specialize in manufacturing high-speed, European safety standard elevators without a machine room or elevator pit. This means our elevators take up very little installation space, eliminating the need to excavate an elevator shaft or alter your home’s structure, making them an ideal choice for homeowners.

#2 Preparation is Key

Before buying an elevator, you should ask yourself some questions so you can easily decide what type of elevator you need. A good starting point is to measure the space where you can fit the elevator. Our smallest elevator, Kalea Home Lift A4 Mini, measures 600 x 830 mm (width x depth), and if you don’t have space in your building, our outdoor elevator is another very good solution.
Knowing the dimensions of your available space will make everything easier!
1. How many floors does your home need an elevator for?
2. Do you need a wheelchair-accessible elevator size?
3. What design and color do you want for your elevator?
4. What is your budget for your elevator?
5. *Do you need to obtain permits from the local authority to install an elevator in your home?
Having a building/planning permit is a requirement in most countries, so before planning an elevator installation, check with your local authority for information on what is needed to obtain your permit before installation (*for existing homes and additional elevator installations).
