CONCEPT DESIGN & ART DIRECTION “Revisiting the Direction: Past Present Perfect”

This Key Visual interprets architectural styles that have emerged in Thailand over the past 90 years.

The goal is to present the beauty of architecture as a living culture, through the concepts and influences that have shaped society in each period. This includes differences in style, changes in concepts, and unique cultural characteristics of each era. This fusion leads to a connection between the past, present, and future, with a novel perspective, to find a “direction” that can drive architecture to reach people of all ages. This is achieved by taking graphic elements from contemporary architecture of each era, simplifying them to stand out, and transforming those elements into character designs that are like art toys. Drawing inspiration from contemporary Thai architecture, these character designs not only reflect the unique characteristics and details of each architectural era but also represent a link between pop culture and modern art, creating tangible meaning both physically and in the general understanding of the audience.

“Past Present Perfect” is a review of the past through an open-minded perspective in the present, exploring possibilities for the future and creating a new dialogue between art, architecture, and vibrant culture across all eras.
