1. The Purpose of Regular Home Elevator Cleaning

With the increasing prevalence of infectious diseases, especially the unexpectedly severe Covid-19 pandemic, we are all working together to prevent the spread of the virus. It’s crucial to keep our family members and guests safe. Your home elevator may be touched and used by many people visiting daily. Therefore, it’s good practice to clean all frequently touched surfaces such as elevator buttons, doors, and walls. Regular Maintenance

Kalea Home Lift recommends that you make elevator cleaning a part of your cleaning schedule, not only during the Covid-19 pandemic but also once the pandemic subsides and life returns to normal. However, elevators have many electronic components, so cleaning and disinfection must be carried out according to Kalea’s standards to avoid damage to the equipment, extend the lifespan of the elevator, ensure the safe operation of screw-type home elevators, and effectively reduce maintenance costs.

2. While Cleaning the Home Elevator

Please use our guidelines to perform the cleaning in the correct sequence, including using appropriate cleaning solutions, for the safety of people in the home or building. For those cleaning the elevator, please observe the following 5 points:
• Before you begin cleaning the elevator, you must ensure that the cleaning can be done safely and in accordance with your country’s health and safety guidelines.
• Place warning signs on the elevator doors to alert people outside. • The elevator is currently being cleaned and must be temporarily out of use during this time.
• Pay attention to cleaning frequently touched surfaces of the elevator, such as call buttons, floor buttons, and elevator walls that can be touched, etc., which will help reduce the spread of viruses.
• Always use protective equipment such as a full-face mask, cleaning gloves, and apron.
• Use chemicals appropriate for the elevator material and always spray the cleaning solution onto a cleaning cloth first, instead of spraying directly onto the elevator to avoid damage to delicate electronic components.
Wash clothing or equipment immediately with an antibacterial cleaning solution and air dry in a well-ventilated, sunny area, or store cleaning equipment and clothing in a sealed bag for 72 hours before disposal, ensuring the bag is tightly sealed and multiple bags are used (approximately 3 layers).
